A bit about us.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting our shop even if you don't purchase anything we really appreciate you having a browse.
Myself (Nick) and my beautiful girlfriend (Debs) started Explorer Leather in Nov 2021 with the aim to offer high quality handmade and hand sewn leather goods with rigorous attention to detail to those that still appreciate a fine leather accessory.
Both born and raised in England and living in the beautiful county of Hampshire we run Explorer Leather part time with the other half of our time still having to go to a normal 9-5 job. Fingers crossed that one day with enough hard work and passion the leather work will become a full time job.....one can dream right!
Made with care
While we understand price is a big factor these days we don't want to skimp on quality or workmanship.
In a world flooded with low quality mass produced items we wanted to offer something different.
This is why we source only the best full grain leathers from the worlds best tanneries and why we insist on making everything 100% by hand here in sunny England....ok may be not so sunny but it is still an undeniably beautiful country.
All our products are designed and tested by ourselves. We never put a piece up for sale if we are not 100% happy with it.
Classic taste
What makes things amazing between myself and Debs is we both love and appreciate that timeless classic look. Whether its a nice dress or shirt, a fine pair of shoes or a nicely fitted jumper we believe that our leather pieces fit nicely into this category.
This is why everything is made and designed to complement this look and style.
Why Leather work
For me (Nick) leather work began by going on a weekend course in Northampton to initially try something different.
Northampton is considered the leather working capital in the UK with may prestigious handmade brands residing there. What better place to start my leather working journey.
I've always enjoyed working with my hands and leather work seemed like something I'd enjoy and a good hobby to get into.
I can honestly say that after those 2 days I was absolutely hooked! And just like a kid coming home from school I could wait to tell Debs all about it.
This then sent me down a rabbit hole of learning more and more to get to where I am today, however there is still so much to learn and with so many different practices within leather work it really is the craft that keeps on giving.
I (Nick) am the lead craftsman and designer and Debs is the apprentice (her words not mine :) However when it comes to the "business" side of things Debs is definitely the boss there. Together we make a great team.
Debs is also an extremely talented ceramicist (even tho she doesn't believe she is, no matter how much I tell her!) with a strong passion for beautiful ceramic pieces.

If you've got this far thank you for reading and stopping by it really does mean so much to us.
