Explorer Leather was founded in 2021 by myself, Nick and my Wife Debs. I’m the maker and the face behind the brand, working from my workshop in England to create handmade leather wallets, made to order with care and intention.
The name Explorer Leather was born from our love of exploring — from busy city streets to quiet countryside towns — and a desire to create products that feel at home in both worlds. That idea continues to shape everything I make.
Our aim has always been simple: to make beautiful leather goods that last and stand the test of time. I work exclusively with the very best vegetable-tanned leathers, chosen for their character, durability, and the way they age with use. Each wallet is crafted using traditional techniques and designed to endure daily life, wherever it takes you.
Behind the scenes, my amazing wife Debs supports Explorer Leather by handling admin and carefully packaging every order — helping ensure each piece arrives ready to be used and enjoyed for years to come.
Guided by thoughtful craftsmanship, Explorer Leather is made for modern explorers who value quality over quantity.
Currently we still work a full-time job, with the long-term goal of one day making leatherwork our full-time focus.

We understand that price matters, but we've never believed in compromising on quality or craftsmanship. In a world full of mass-produced, short-lived goods, I wanted Explorer Leather to offer something different.
That’s why I work exclusively with the finest full-grain leathers, sourced from some of the world’s best tanneries, and why every piece is made entirely by hand here in England. Each design is thoughtfully developed, tested, and refined by us — and nothing is ever offered for sale unless I’m completely happy with it.
My focus is simple: honest materials, careful workmanship, and leather goods made to be used, trusted, and enjoyed for years to come.

What makes working with my wife Debs so special is that we both share a love for timeless, classic style. Whether it’s a well-cut shirt, a fine pair of shoes, or a perfectly fitted jumper, we appreciate pieces that are made to last and look effortless. That same philosophy guides every leather item we create — each wallet and accessory is designed and crafted to complement that sense of enduring style.
Where it all began
Why Leather work
My leather journey began with a weekend course in Northampton — widely regarded as the leather-working capital of the UK, home to many of the country’s most prestigious handmade brands. I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands, and leatherwork seemed like the perfect hobby to dive into. After just two days, I was completely hooked — and, like a kid coming home from school, I couldn’t wait to tell Debs all about it.
That spark sent me down a rabbit hole of learning, experimenting, and honing my craft to get to where I am today. And yet, there’s still so much to discover — with so many techniques and traditions, leatherwork really is a craft that keeps on giving.
I’m the lead maker and designer here at Explorer Leather, while Debs (her words, not mine!) is my apprentice — though when it comes to running the business, she’s definitely the boss. Together, we make a great team. Debs is also an incredibly talented ceramicist with a passion for creating beautiful, timeless pieces — even if she doesn’t always believe it herself.
