The Details

Here we go further in depth about the process of all the little details that go into every leather piece we make.

Beveling

This step transforms sharp, square edges into smooth, rounded ones for a refined finish.

Using a precision tool called an edge beveler, we carefully remove about 0.6 mm of leather from each side.

The result is a beautifully rounded edge that not only looks professional but also feels comfortable in the hand. By softening the corners, we enhance both the durability and luxury feel of every piece ensuring it ages gracefully and stands the test of time.

Burnishing

Burnishing is the finishing touch that elevates raw leather into a work of art.

Through this meticulous process, rough edges are transformed into a smooth, glossy surface that looks as good as it feels.

By compressing and sealing the leather fibers, burnishing adds strength and protection making edges more resistant to wear, moisture, and fraying over time.

The result is a clean, polished edge that’s comfortable to the touch and built to last.

As the leather ages, these burnished edges develop a rich, natural patina, enhancing its character and giving every piece a timeless, authentic appeal

Creasing

Creasing adds a subtle yet beautiful finishing touch to leatherwork.

By running a heated creasing tool along the edge, we create a clean, decorative line that enhances definition and highlights the craftsmanship in every piece.

This process not only gives the leather a more refined look but also gently compresses the fibers, helping the edges stay strong and hold their shape over time.

When paired with techniques like beveling and burnishing, creasing completes the edgework—bringing harmony, precision, and character to each handmade creation.
